One more month

Before anything else, I’d just like to remind everyone that it is Mother’s Day next Sunday. That’s May 9! Why don’t you get your mom a gift even though she nags at you all the time? She still loves you. I know you love her too, anyway. I’m going to search for unique gifts for her (my mom). But I’m still broke so I will probably get her something as soon as I get my money from cyber space! Haha! :)

School is 38 days away from today. Hello thesis making and other subjects. I will seriously take you all seriously this semester. I cannot not not not and not fail. If I want to graduate on 2011 (that’s next year), I will do my best best best of all best just to finish this undergrad program.

Monday is I will start my diet because I will go back to gym. Meet my friends if they are available and shock few after 2-3 weeks. Ha, where is this confidence coming from? I hope to lose weight. I am trying trying and trying so hopefully, I’ll lose weight again.

Why am I repeating words? Alright, later.

Random girly date

My friend and I met yesterday ’cause she had my id and I needed that to get a barangay clearance (which I will get today). She also accompanied me to pay for the gym. We did a little window shopping ’cause there were a lot of stalls which were in sale. Too bad I was broke to buy anything for myself. We then decided to eat. Window shopping was tiring, y’know!

We were supposed to eat at the famous KFC but we wanted to try something new. So we went checking out for restaurants and we spotted the Holy Cow.

We both ordered pork chop in a hot plate. Neither of us enjoyed our meal. I don’t know, maybe if we ordered something else then we’ll know if they serve real good foods. The iced tea was good though. We had 5 (or so) refills ’cause we were talking talking and talking a lot about random high school stuff.

Then we both decided to test our luck by buying two tickets in lotto. We joined 6/49, draw tonight! It’s the second time we did this. (You know what happened the first time, haha). She influenced me to buy scratch cards which costs P20/$0.45 each. I won P50/$1.20 for my first try! So we both bought again but then we lost. I bought again but lost again. It is addicting! P10 goes to the charity.

Ha! I didn’t spend much and I loved it. Dates shouldn’t be really expensive, anyway. I love times with my friends like this. I hope we get to do this more often like we used to (when there’s class and baon).

Ultimate Daranak Falls Experience

Another despedida outing for my friend. It was originally a family outing but she tagged us along. Where to? Daranak Falls at Tanay, Rizal. 4 hours of travel with lost-in-the-road-ask-random-people-how-to-get-there and finally we got there in time for lunch. Getting near the falls wasn’t that easy, too. You have to cross a long bamboo bridge, a mini bridge and step mostly on big rocks just to get to the tables.

Before we ate lunch, we went to see the falls. I thought it wasn’t that nice since the water in the stream was not so good. But the falls (being a first timer to see one), was really amusing. It wasn’t that breathtaking at all but not bad.

We took few pictures and went back to our table to eat. You can bring your own griller and that was what tito did. So we had barbecue aside from the adobo. Nomnomnom. Great lunch. Just enough to fill our stomachs before starting our stream trekking.

We were supposed to go to Batlag Falls but we gave up after (probably) 15 steps. The road was steep or so it was for us. People say it is just a 5-minute walk away from Daranak but personally, I think it would take me 10-15 minutes just to get there. Anyway, we just decided to push through our stream trekking. We got almost far but decided to go back since there was a man who was talking to my friend’s brother directing us somewhere. We were freaked out. LOL.

My friend picked up a heart-shaped rock. He even put it in my bag without telling me! I was like remove-it-in-my-bag ’cause I was afraid that I would be cursed from getting something from the nature. But the rock was so lovely, how could not anyone pick it up? I just hope he won’t be cursed. LOL.

So when we got back, we decided to swim. The water was so cold, brrr. The water gets deep near the falls. You would really need a salbabida (life-savers) if you don’t know how to swim. It’s going to hurt your arms (in my case, the whole body) a day after ’cause you will need a lot of effort to move around the water with your floater. Oh, there are sharp rocks near the shallow area which can wound you big time. =/

The 4 hour waterfall experience was really fun. The travel back will make you hungry ’cause you’re tired. Hahaha. My friend, Nok, served us foods! RICE IN A CUP! Plus mango for dessert which was gross but who-cares-no-one-except-the-four-of-us-saw how we ate it. It was really a challenge!

Yay because this is the 3rd time I went swimming this summer. Ha, I so love the water this year!

Have you been near the falls?

On a jet plane

My friend, Roxy, is leaving for Singapore on monday. On the job training thing she applied for. So brave to leave everything and everyone behind for 6 months. She will be back tho. WHY AM I SO BEING EMOTIONAL? Ha ha. Not. I’m actually happy for her! What really makes me feel sad is that we’re in our college senior year. Only two more semesters before the expected graduation year. After that, we’re less likely to see each other because of work. Say what? I just hope no one gets delayed so we can push through our Macau Party. My friends and I already talked about the plan and everyone is really excited. We’re going to graduate on 2011.

Saturday night, I spent with four of my friends. Swim and eat at Casa Milan’s Clubhouse. Wednesday night, I spent with more of my friends. And tomorrow morning, I will be spending time with them again. We were never complete though but I am always present!!! Ha ha ha! Despedida galore?

Oh by the way, tada! I have a new layout! It’s oh oh oh blue! The header, uh, I recycled it. I already used it for my multiply theme (and still using), heh. I just love the way it looks like now. I’m more happy to blog. If there’s something wrong, kindly tell me asap so I can fix it! Later!

Vacation at Baguio

I don’t like going back to places I’ve been at with the same people. Just like Baguio. We (family) already went there (December 2006) and my mother planned to go back (and yes, we already went back) because my lola wanted… or maybe my mother just said that. Anyhow, I enjoyed the weekend.

IT WAS MY FIRST TIME…

1. To walk up the grotto. There are probably 100+ steps. I didn’t really count, I just heard from the kids. There were bitchy encounters like the man who was against clogging the way but clogged the pathway, too.

2. To visit the Strawberry Farm at La Trinidad, Benguet. It was around 1pm when we arrived at Strawberry farm. It is not cold at La Trinidad, so if you could just imagine how hot it was(!). Anyway, one group can’t exceed one kilo of picked strawberries. P150/kilo when you pick the strawberries and P90/kilo (probably that price or less than) for no-picking experience. Also, it is best to get there as early as you can. Of course, you wouldn’t want to pick small fruits! Say hi to my basket!

3. To eat Strawberry Taho. When I couldn’t see ‘good’ picks anymore, I went near my mother and the manong who was selling the famous strawberry taho! I wanted to taste it for review or just an experience so I asked my father to buy me a cup! (I don’t know how much it costs. :<) IT IS SWEET! VERY SWEET. It actually tastes like strawberry jam. If you are to taste it, mix it very well so the flavor will spread. Don’t eat the strawberries alone! Eat it with the soft tofu. ‘Cause if you finish the strawberries first, your tofu wouldn’t have any taste at all.

There were lots of firsts but these are my top three! Baguio is still the summer capital of the Philippines! I want to go back and chill! Let us! <3

Have you been to Baguio? ;>
